This tool does not break loose the ball joint it’s just used as leverage for the control arm when separating it. Being the tool is $10 or less typically its worth buying for sure. Much faster than a chain and bolt
Control arm helper. There is a tool for every job and multiple ways to do job. No way is the right way. Do what you like to do best but keep and open mind.

Try doing this when you have the car on jacks and not on a lift.
I wanted to try this even bought the hook too. Considering I’m a DIYer I couldn’t lift the car high enough to get the proper angle. I reached for my $10 harbor freight purse and in 3 swings I achieved this result.
Easy cause the car is elevated but with jack stands leverage is not the same.
Do it the proper way most dont come out like that, you can put your whole body weight and still wont come out, that shiet was loose already
